I think my love for punk/grunge culture is pretty obvious, so when I first saw Alice Dellal as the face of Chanel's new Boy bag collection it was impossible for me not to adore the campaign.
Karl Lagerfeld said that the collection is "far from conformist notions of femininity",and his latest muse, Alice Dellal's punk/rock look is perfect for the Boy Chanel handbags, because even with her rock hard image she still stays feminine but with an edgy twist.
The classy backdrop, lace and pearls against the ripped tights, shaved head and tattoos create a contrast so stark, and so bold, it's right. The two, however different, seem to fit into place. It almost creates the impression that fish nets would actually be a good choice to wear to a antique French chateau (when in reality that may not be the best idea), but that is the essence of the Boy bag, fusing elegance with rebellion.
I have been a fan of Dellal's for a while now, she is edgy and has the punk mentality that I have an affinity for, and I hope that this new partnership with Chanel will boost her career because I would love to see more of her in the future.
